Our students had an awesome time at the Delaware County Fair this week. Thank you so much to the representatives from the fair that graciously donated free fair passes to our students and staff on Wednesday afternoon.
Our students were so excited to show off their developing functional skills by interacting and appropriately socializing with the different individuals on the fairgrounds! Many of our students took advantage of our visit to buy themselves some delicious fair food! We had funnel cakes, giant cheesy burritos, pizza sticks, french waffles, fair fries, hamburgers and more. The best part about the fair is the food vendors and merchants. Our students were responsible for ordering, determining the total cost, and paying for their food or souvenirs all on their own ... AND THEY DID AN AMAZING JOB! We couldn't be more proud.
In addition to making financial transactions in a real world setting, our students were challenged to initiate conversations with the animal caretakers on the fairgrounds to learn about caring for the livestock and other animals. One question they had to figure out was "Why do sheep were pajamas?" Do you know why?
Check out these guys having a little fun!
Check back soon for more pictures of our students at the Delaware County Fair.
That is too funny, McCoy!
